Instructional Design
With extensive experience designing training materials for adult learners, I am passionate about creating learning tools that are engaging, practical, and accessible. Here is an excerpt from a training module I developed to reinforce specific actions health department employees can take to comply with a policy prohibiting the inclusion of protected health information (PHI) in emails. This project included crafting clear, interactive content aligned with organizational standards and tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. Visual Storytelling
With 20 years of experience as a writer, learning coach, and teacher, I specialize in developing curriculum and educational content for learners of all ages. Below is an excerpt from an educational video I co-wrote and directed, designed to make complex historical content engaging and accessible for high school students. These videos, recorded on a green screen with backgrounds and visual learning aids added in post-production, were integrated into software featuring interactive activities, assessments, and resource guides for both students and teachers. Screenwriting
Contributing historical monologues and performing in the PBS documentary Citizens at Last—a powerful account of Texas suffragists’ fight for the vote—allowed me to combine my passion for teaching history with visual storytelling. Working collaboratively with a talented team of writers, historians, and filmmakers, I was able to help make meaningful historical content more engaging and accessible to a wider audience.
